Sunday October 21st
Alexander Keith’s Brewery Market
1496 Lower Water Street, Halifax
A trade fair supporting local entrepreneurs in the business of repair and repurposing.
Workshops to help even the most un-handy person feel like they can tackle simple home repairs.
An art show showcasing original art made from recovered materials.
A food festival for local chefs and food rescuers to demonstrate fantastic ways to turn waste food into mouth-watering meals.
A DIYer’s paradise for inspiration and practical support.
Fix-It-Fair is all of these – and more. (And it’s free to attend!)
It’s a celebration of a culture of self-sufficiency, of supporting a local circular economy, and of helping our planet by reducing waste. And we want you to be part of it!
This year will mark Clean Foundation’s third annual Fix-it Fair, bringing together artists, entrepreneurs, and handyfolks to bolster and celebrate the local repair economy. More than 250 people and 25 vendors attended last year’s event at the Halifax Forum. This year’s event will take place on Sunday, October 21st, the peak of National Waste Reduction Week, at the Alexander Keith’s Brewery Courtyard on Lower Water Street in Halifax.
This beautiful venue will allow us to further grow attendance, invite a broader array of repair businesses, and improve on some of last year’s innovations (for example, having a dedicated space for workshops for better sound balance).
Keep checking back for more information as it develops!
