Fix-it Fair 2018

The third annual Fix-it Fair was held Oct. 21, 2018 at the Alexander Keith’s Brewery Courtyard in Halifax. This free event featured local repair businesses, entrepreneurs and artists who upcycle recovered or repurposed materials, workshops to help even the un-handiest people feel like they can tackle simple home repairs, and a repair café with on-site specialists who do their best to fix broken everyday items.

LeonardThe event also included a clothing swap, composting and repurposing demonstrations, computer and digital repair experts, free giveaways, and more! Prizes won at the Fix-it Fair included Fix-it Toolkits filled with everything needed for at home repairs, Fix-it Craft Kits with everything to mend and create, backyard composters, and Clean Foundation prize packages full of sustainable and reusable items. Plus, the first 20 people to arrive at the event got a free Fix-it tote bag made from recycled fabrics!

Clean Foundation’s past Fix-it Fairs have been sponsored by the Government of Nova Scotia and Divert, and supported by Halifax Regional Municipality, Halifax Brewery Farmers Market, McInnes Cooper, Patagonia Halifax, Dartmouth Surplus, Jentronics, Fabricville, and Princess Auto.
